1. First attachments detail the electricity and gas costs per month by children’s residential home for 2020/21 and 2021/22. Second attachment details the breakdown of monthly costs for the period April 2022 to July 2022.
2. Future energy bills are difficult to predict as there could be changes announced in November following the change of Government; however, Electricity is predicted to go up by 100% in October and Gas by 200% in April 2023.
3. The energy bills are not price capped.
4. The children’s residential homes support our most vulnerable cohorts of children and these children will continue to receive the same service offer in meeting their needs. The Council has considered the rising costs within its medium term financial planning and will continue to maximise the efficiency of the buildings operations and securing best value within the current market conditions.
