Food insecurity - Find a freedom of information request

I am writing to make an open government request for all the information to which I am entitled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and/or the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. I am emailing on behalf of the Co-operative Party.

1.I am keen to know the extent to which tackling food insecurity is embedded in the work of the council.

2.My specific request is whether you have a lead member with responsibility for food poverty or tackling food insecurity?

 

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.

1. There is no one lead member with responsibility as food insecurity crosses several portfolios:

Children's Services, Public Health, and Community Engagement. Children, young people, and families are encouraged to sign up to the Holiday Activity and Food programme which provides food education and healthy meals during the school holidays.

Families are encouraged to sign up for free school meals to access healthy and nutritious food during term time.

2. The Council does not have a lead member responsible for food poverty or tackling food insecurity.
