Plans for Mutual aid Involving Care Home Providers - Find a freedom of information request

Request

Please disclose, preferably by PDF, a copy of the plans for mutual aid involving care home providers that were established following the March 2020 Public Health England Covid-19 policy.

Decision

There were no formal mutual aid plans established by the council, many of the Council’s providers operate more than one care home in the county and already have well established mechanisms to support other homes within their group at times of staff shortage.

Increased telephone support was provided by the Health Protection Team to monitor the impact of the Covid outbreak in staff and residents aligned to risk assessments throughout the peak of the pandemic.

Increased virtual support was provided via the Contract Officers to continually monitor the impact of staffing levels to escalate risk internally, to identify use of agency staff in the event of significant staff loss and/or seek informal support via partner agencies as necessary.
