Subject: Stagecoach East Midland Route 57
I refer to the above, having noted that the new timetable has reduced the service between Boston and Spalding.
It is now almost impossible to do a day trip to Skegness with the last bus back being 1515 or 1525.
The first thing that struck me about the service was an almost lack of publicity leading to the route being virtually unknown in Spalding.
People are therefore unaware of the routes direct link to the Pilgrim hospital and choose to pay for a taxi rather than travel on the B13 route with a change in Boston.
The section discussed must operate at a huge loss based on my viewing of its loadings.
1.What I would like to understand is why it is there and is there any funding from Lincolnshire County Council?
2.and if so why, or are the developers of the Quadrant in Wyberton providing any funding?

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.
Thank you for your enquiries about the Stagecoach 37 service; this is entirely a commercial service that receives no support from Lincolnshire County Council as such the scheduling and advertising of the route is entirely the responsibility of Stagecoach.
One of the difficulties in advertising the route by traditional methods i.e. posters on bus stops is the limited amount of infrastructure between Spalding and Boston as the route travels down the A16 and thus limits options of physical advertising.
The service was advertised on both Lincsbus and Stagecoach's websites whilst also featured on travel planning apps as an option for travel.
1-2. With reference to the service potentially running at a loss, this would be a question for Stagecoach to answer as the service is solely funded by them.
Please contact Stagecoach for further information.
