1. How many cases of child abuse or neglect were referred to the council in the years; a) 2018, b) 2019, c) 2020 and d) 2021?

2. For the cases referred to the council in a) 2018, b) 2019, c) 2020 and d) 2021 were any children the victim of a serious injury? If so how many?

3. For the cases referred to the council in a) 2018, b) 2019, c) 2020 and d) 2021 did any result in the death of a child? If so how many?

1. All three questions have been answered, based upon the Assessment Factors, "Abuse or Neglect" and "Physical Abuse.

N.B. This represents the number of children for whom "Abuse" or "Neglect" were among the Assessment Factors recorded.

N.B. This represents the number of children for whom "Physical Abuse" was among the Assessment Factors recorded. This might also include non-serious injuries. Not all those children may have suffered a serious injury.

3. 

 N.B. This includes those children, and unborn babies, for whom a Social care referral was made at the time of their death.
