Grimsby Police Personnel records - Find a freedom of information request

I am a retired senior Police Officer researching the medals and awards of Provincial Police Forces.

I am a holder of a Lincolnshire Archives Reader Ticket

I am a member of the Orders & Medal Research Society & a member of numerous research-related forums.

My previous research has been used in published reference works and has expanded the knowledge of some Police museums.

I am currently researching the medals and awards to an officer of the Grimsby Borough Police.

The subject is Police Constable 30, George FLOWERS, date of birth 23rd November 1900 at Balderton, Notts. I have formed a pen portrait of his life by the use of online family history websites and other publicly available sources.

However, the part of his life and his medallic awards with Grimsby Police remains blank.

I am aware that certain Grimsby Police Personnel records were deposited at Rumbold Street and the depositor placed a closure order on them. Previous protracted correspondence on a similar subject, pre-covid, resulted in access being granted to me to examine a Grimsby senior officer's record.

1.I ask if the personal record of P.c. 30 FLOWERS has remained extant and can be accessed? I do not require any information regarding his family who may still be alive which is available publicly online and/or protected by the Data Protection Act.

2.The details I would seek to establish are simply his dates of service, his area of patrol & postings, and any commendations and awards. These statistics obviously form no security or personal intrusions or dangers.

3.Please advise whether this record is available for study.

4.I would also ask if the Grimsby Watch Committee minutes post 1919 are available for examination? 

1. Lincolnshire Archives have I checked and  do not hold this file - Lincolnshire Archives have a very small number of personal files for police.

3. Lincolnshire archives have checked all other files relating to Grimsby police and have found no records relating to a P.C Flowers.
