I have a few questions relating to smoking on LCC premises across the county.
1. Do you have any rules with regards to smoking outside on County Council Property?
2. Do customers and staff have to use designated smoking areas?
3. Do you state that smoking isn't to be permitted within so many metres of a door or window?
a. How is this enforced and.
b. Who is the best person to speak with about this?

1. Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) have a Smoke free Policy (G14) which sets out the requirements expected of Staff/Visitors/Contractors etc. who wish to smoke outside (while on LCC premises).
2. Not all LCC premises have a designated smoking area, but the policy states that if a designated smoking area has been identified, this area will become the only authorised location for smoking on site.
3. If no defined smoking area or special safety or health hazards has been identified, on site smoking may be permitted but must not take place near any doorways or open windows i.e., 20 metres.
a. In the case of LCC staff, any employee found to be smoking on site outside the designated smoking area will be subject to the appropriate disciplinary procedure. Breaches by non-employees may lead to other sanctions such as exclusion.
b. Incidents can be reported directly to their line manager in the first instance (in the case of LCC staff) or the person responsible for the area in which smoking is taking place (LCC staff and/or Visitors).
