Funding for the Society for Lincolnshire History and Archaeology - Find a freedom of information request

Request

1. Do you fund the 'Society for Lincolnshire History & Archaeology' from tax payers money?

2. How is the society funded?

3. The history is a lie so to be clear. ALL the history you promote comes from them?

Decision

1. Lincolnshire County Council have only paid the Society one grant in the last five years and this was towards the publication of Ironstone Mines of the Lincolnshire Wolds of £1000 and this was paid through the Lincolnshire Wolds Small Grant Scheme 2017/18 programme.

2. As the society is not part of Lincolnshire County Council, The Council does not hold this information. You would need to request this information from the Society.

3. As well as its Cultural Services, Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) has an Historic Places Team within its Planning Service. This team provides advice on managing change within the historic environment. Its advice is based on The Council’s current knowledge of the archaeological sites and historic buildings as represented in the county's Historic Environment Record. This record is based upon evidence taken from a number of sources. These range from reports of work undertaken by professional archaeological units to the records of individual finds made by members of the public. The SLHA occasionally undertakes research which will contribute to The Council’s knowledge of the places of Lincolnshire and LCC will assimilate that information into its records as The Council deems appropriate.
