PSTN telephone lines, ISDN2s and ISDN30s - Find a freedom of information request

Request

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to know:

1. How many PSTN telephone lines, ISDN2s and ISDN30s do you currently have in your network?

2. Can you also confirm how many lines have/will be replaced as part of your WRL withdrawal process?

Decision

1. On the assumption that all pass-through lines are standard PSTN Lines there are 257 lines.

2. There are a further 105 lines on the monthly pass through that have additional features’ e.g. Multiline, higher service availability, and some include WRL, to review these lines would take longer than the 18hrs allotted for a FOI request.

Section 12(1) of the Freedom of Information 2000 does not oblige a public authority to comply with a request for information if the authority estimates that the cost of complying with the request would exceed the appropriate limit. The appropriate limit is currently £450 or 18 hours at a cost of £25 per hour. The exemption under section 12 is not subject to the public interest test Any refined request will be treated as a new request under the Freedom of Information Act.
