We are requesting information about the fee rates paid by local authorities to care providers for the provision of home care and residential social care services.
You will have received a similar request recently, please treat this as a separate request. We are issuing this request with a wider scope and are seeking some additional information.
We have drawn on the categories used and described by the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services to define the information we are requesting. If these definitions are not compatible with how the data is collected, please provide the most similar available information with an explanatory note or contact us for further clarity.
Definition1. Please provide the information regarding fee rates paid to independent and voluntary sector providers in October 2021 for the provision of CQC regulated home care for disabled adults, including those with a learning disability and/or autism.
a. Lowest hourly rate.
b. Highest hourly rate.
c. Mean average hourly rate.
- Please exclude rates for the provision of care and support at night as these are included within question 2.
- Please include all independent/private and non-profit providers.
- By disability we are referring to physical, mental, sensory, learning or cognitive impairment as distinct from mental illness or needs associated with old age alone. Please indicate if your response adopts different criteria.
- If the data is not recorded in pounds and pence per hour, please provide the figures as they are with an explanatory note.
2. If you pay different rates for supported living or extra care services from your home care rates, please provide the following information for each. Alternatively, please confirm that you pay the same rates.

3. If you pay different rates for adults aged 18-64 years old from those aged 65 or over, please provide the following information for each. Alternatively, please confirm that you pay the same rates.
