Request

I would be grateful for a response to the below Freedom of Information request, relating to traffic cameras across the authority.

1. What is the number of speeding, red light safety and other traffic cameras operated by your local authority or any authorised contractor or sub-contractor operating in the authority?

2. In total, how much did your local authority or any authorised contractor or sub-contractor receive in fines last year through speeding, red light safety and other traffic cameras?

Decision

1. Lincolnshire County Council have 43 static cameras and eight average speed camera systems. The Council does not have any red light camera systems at present.

2. Lincolnshire County Council do not receive any money from fines, they are paid to HM Treasury. However, in 2021 Lincolnshire County Council delivered National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme courses to 23,604 clients. These offences can have been detected anywhere in England. Lincolnshire County Council retains £41 from the course fee charged to attendees as cost recovery. This equates to £967,764 in 2021.
