Roles Created by the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA) - Find a freedom of information request

Request

I am conducting a study that will develop our understanding of the people working in the roles created by the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA). Under this legislation, all local authorities are designated as bodies which can employ Financial Intelligence Officers (FIOs) and Accredited Financial Investigators (AFIs) under the POCA. As part of this research, I would therefore like to request the following information from yourselves under the Freedom of Information Act 2000:

1.The number of staff in your agency who currently hold roles under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (such as Financial Intelligence Officers (FIOs) and Accredited Financial Investigators (AFIs). From this figure, please could you also provide an answer to the following:

2.How many staff are FIOs and how many are AFIs?

Decision

1. Lincolnshire County Council currently has 2 Principal Trading Standards Officers who are qualified Financial Intelligence Officers.

2. Lincolnshire County Council does not employ any Accredited Financial Investigators
