You recently admitted on a previous request (1870249) you had identified and held one example of you wrongly claiming to a member of the public that the lifespan of an exhaust was five years rather than three and attempted to apply betterment based on wrong information. Can you now please provide in this request the following.
1. On discovering the error was that member of the public advised of the error or did the council carry on regardless?
2. Is it council procedure to proceed in cases where a known error has been identified?
3. Did the council amend the offer made to that claimant or ignore the fresh evidence and knowingly proceed on the now known false evidence they held?
4. Has any apology for the error been made on behalf of the council to the claimant for this error by the council?

The Council's position with regard to betterment in the case referred to as been fully set out in the Council's response to that claim and the member of the public is therefore aware of the position. The calculation of the offer based on a 5 year lifespan for betterment was more favourable to the customer than that which would have been made based on a 2/3 year lifespan. However, the Council decided not to reduce the offer made and accordingly, it was not considered necessary to apologise.
