Court of Protection - Capacity of Social Media and Internet Use - Find a freedom of information request

If possible, please could you provide a response from social care to the following:

1. How many applications have you issued in the Court of Protection for declarations and/or decisions relating to capacity/best interests in respect of internet and social media?

2. Since the Court of Protection decisions in Re A (Capacity: Social Media and Internet Use: Best Interests) [2019] EWCOP 2 and Re B (Capacity: Social Media: Care and Contact) [2019] EWCOP 3, what education and/or guidance have you delivered/developed for your Adult Social Care workforce?

1. Lincolnshire County Council have not issued in the COP for such declarations although in three cases issues in respect of internet and social media have been raised during the proceedings.

2. The council regularly delivers courses on MCA, issues regular practice bulletins and provides resources for staff to access on COP work.
