Residential Buildings Over 11m with Waking Watches - Find a freedom of information request

Request

1. I would like to know the most recent data for how many residential buildings (11m +) in your authority which have been identified as having fire safety concerns.

2. As a result of these concerns how many currently have 24 hour waking watches (fire wardens) in place?

3. The length of time these waking watches have been in place.

4. Of these buildings, how many times has the fire service has been called to fires or suspected fires at these buildings since June 2017?

Decision

1. Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue (LFR) don’t categorise buildings by their height because height is a minor factor when considering risk to occupants. LFR have not, in the past, recorded the height of the top floor of a building in the database. Looking at the most recent risk data however, there are 25 premises that have had unsatisfactory audits. These audits have been conducted over several years and those with minor fire safety concerns would not have been followed up by LFR's inspectors.

2. LFR would not be able to confirm this information, the number of premises that have a waking watch would be very specific and we only have one premises currently utilising that because of fire safety concerns.

3. The waking watch was put in place on 3 July 2020.

4. 59 fire type incidents attended at these premises (including 39 to one premises where 38 were false alarms from the fire alarm system).
