Decision

Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) has no contracts with commercial suppliers for the supply and erection of bus shelters. Any contracts of this type within the main towns would have been entered into by the relevant District/Town Council.

The County Council uses the resources of its Term Maintenance Contractors for the installation and/or major repair of any individual Council provided shelter. In addition, local contractors are occasionally commissioned on an ad hoc basis to undertake any small scale repairs/remedial work on individual shelters owned by the Council.

The Council has a number of cleaning contractors (with local cleaners) for regular and deep cleaning of its key interchange shelters.

The majority of shelters within the county are parish owned and maintained and the Council continues to offer a Shelter Grant to local parishes to help with the initial cost of purchase and installation, but the asset and responsibility for upkeep remains with the Parish Council.
