Libraries Opened and Closed 2017-2019 - Find a freedom of information request

I wish to request, under the Freedom of Information Act, that you supply me with:

1. The number of libraries closed by the council in 2017.

2. The number of libraries closed by the council in 2018.

3. The number of libraries closed by the council in 2019.

4. The number of new libraries opened by the council in 2017.

5. The number of new libraries opened by the council in 2018.

6. The number of new libraries opened by the council in 2019.

1. No Libraries were closed by the council in 2017.

2. In 2018 there was a small period where three sites had temporary short term closures to enable the transfer to a new provider.

3. No permanent closures were made in 2019. One Community Hub temporarily closed for a few weeks to enable a change of provider but this library was not 'closed down' and is still in operation.

4. In 2017 one former library that was previously under the council's statutory provision, which closed pre 2016, was re-opened in 2017, under community run provision.

5. No new libraries were opened by the council in 2018.

6. One Community Hub site re-opened following a change of provider in 2019.
