Trees that Lincolnshire County Council has responsibility for - Find a freedom of information request

Request

1. Do you conduct an audit or have figures relating to the number of trees that your authority has responsibility for? If so please provide me with a figure for the number of trees at the nearest date you have to (a) 1 April 2019 and (b) 1 April 2016.

2. How many trees that you have responsibility for were felled by either your employees or contractors working on behalf of your authority in (a) 2016-2017, (b) 2017-2018 and (c) 2018-2019?

3. How many trees for which you have responsibility were planted by your employees or contractors working on behalf of your authority in (a) 2016-2017, (b) 2017-2018 and (c) 2018-2019?

4. How many trees in your authority were subject to a Tree Preservation Order as at (a) 1 April 2019, and (b) 1 April 2016?

5. How many trees subject to a Tree Preservation Order were felled in the 18-19 financial year? Please provide me with a list showing the number of each species involved.

These two figures are different as Lincolnshire County Council identified that the original survey contractor missed a lot of roads/trees during the first phase of their survey.

2. Lincolnshire County Council Countryside Services estimates that it felled approximately 350 trees during 2018-2019; this was all forestry thinning of established planting schemes. Countryside Services do not hold records of trees felled during the years 2016-2017 & 2017-2018.

These trees were all planted to replace trees felled on the highway.

4. Lincolnshire County Council does not hold any specific information on how many of its highway trees are covered by TPO's. This information may be held by Lincolnshire County Council's district council colleagues, who are the statutory authority for administering TPO's.
