1. The child is in the care of the local authority or had previously been in care, including those children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
2. There is a brother or sister on roll at the academy at the time of application, or who will be attending at the expected time of admission.
3. A child whose parent is a member of staff and has been employed at the academy for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the academy is made or a member of staff who has been recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skills shortage.
4. The school is the nearest one to the home address by straight line distance.
5. Straight line distance from home to school, priority given to those living closest.

If distance is not sufficient to distinguish between applicants for the last place then a lottery will be conducted.
