2024 oversubscription criteria
  1. Catholic children who are looked after or who were previously looked after, including those children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
  2. Catholic children (check full policy)
  3. Other pupils who are looked after or who were previously looked after, including those children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
  4. Catechumens, Candidates and members of Eastern Christian Churches.
  5. Children of other Christian denominations whose membership is evidenced by a minister of religion.
  6. Children of other faiths whose membership is evidenced by a religious leader
  7. Other children.

Tie Break - First priority within the criteria will be given to applications from children who attend one of the partner primary schools. St Hugh's Catholic Primary School and Our Lady of Lincoln Catholic Primary School.

Second priority within the criteria will be given to applications from children who will have siblings attending the school at the proposed time of admission.

If any of the above categories are oversubscribed after sibling priority, then the tie-break will be by straight line distance to the school, priority given to those living nearest.

You must fill in a supplementary form when applying for this school if you would like to apply on faith grounds. This form can be obtained direct from the school.

2025 oversubscription criteria

Where the number of applications is more than the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied in the order set out below, to decide which children to admit.

1a.  Catholic children who are ‘looked after’ or who were ‘previously looked after’ including those children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted that attend a partner primary school with a sibling on roll in years 7-11 at the proposed time of admission

1b.  Catholic children who are ‘looked after’ or who were ‘previously looked after’ including those children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted that attend a partner primary school

1c.  Catholic children who are ‘looked after’ or who were ‘previously looked after’ including those children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted that do not attend a partner primary school  but who will have a sibling on roll in years 7-11 at the proposed time of admission

1d.  Other Catholic children who are ‘looked after’ or who were ‘previously looked after’ including those children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted

2a.  Catholic children that attend a partner primary school with a sibling on roll in years 7-11 at the proposed time of admission

12. The overall capacity for admission into Year 12 is 50.
Sixth form entry requirements

Both internal and external pupils wishing to enter the sixth form will be expected to have met the same minimum academic entry requirements for the sixth form. These are that pupils will have achieved at least five 9*-4 GCSEs. This must include English and Maths at Grade 4.

In addition to the sixth form’s minimum academic entry requirements pupils will need to satisfy minimum entrance requirements to the courses for which they are applying. If either internal or external applicants fail to meet the minimum course requirements, they will be given the option of pursuing any alternative courses for which they do meet the minimum academic requirements. When there are more external applicants that satisfy any academic entry requirements, priority will be given in accordance with the oversubscription criteria set out in the school’s full policy.

Any offer is dependent on there being sufficient numbers to run the course.
