- Looked After Child including those children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
- Sibling on roll at time of application.
- Children of staff members employed by the school.
- Nearest non-selective school measured by straight line distance.
- Straight line distance from the home to the school, priority given to those who live closest.
If distance is not sufficient to distinguish between applicants for the last place then a lottery will be conducted.

All applicants need to meet the school’s overall academic standards for admission to the sixth form and any specific requirement for the particular subject. The Sixth Form brochure gives details of the courses the school normally offer.
Students require a minimum of 5 GCSE Passes including:
- A grade 4 in Maths OR English
- A minimum of four 9 – 4 grades in any other subjects
- Choose a pathway set out in The Sixth Form brochure.
- A minimum of a Grade 3 in English and Maths is required to be considered for Sixth Form

The same criteria for Sixth Form entry applies to both internal and external applicants.
- Students in public care or have previously been in public care including those children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
- The grade achieved in the relevant subject or subjects, at GCSE or equivalent as specified in the school’s sixth form prospectus and the school website.
- The average points score achieved across all GCSE subjects taken by the applicant.
- Sibling on roll at time of application.
- Children of staff members employed by the school.
- The distance from the home to the school. Priority will be given to the child living nearest the school.
