The Family Group Conference Services operate in Children’s Services.
The Family Group Conference (FGC) is a meeting which addresses the concerns of a child's family. This can also include professionals working with the family.
The purpose of the plan is to ensure that the child is safe with support from their family network. It is important during this process, that the child's voice is heard to understand how they are feeling. Where appropriate the child will be invited to attend the meeting and contribute to the plan. After you give consent to a referral to the Family Group Conference Service.
Once we receive the referral from your Social Worker or Lead Professional you will be allocated an FGC practitioner who will contact you to have a discussion and they may arrange to visit you in your home. They will also arrange to meet with the people in your network to arrange a convenient time for your Family Group Conference to take place, so that you can all come together to agree the plan.
