Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: "We received some really useful feedback from people during last September’s events and now want to share how we’ve optimised the route based on the local views and knowledge we received, particularly where the new road’s design in relation to Pennells Roundabout, Station Road and Somerton Gate Lane.
“We’re also far enough along to share some early details about environmental management, construction plans and traffic impacts during and after the road being built.
“Over the coming months, our focus will be on firming up the project’s design and carrying out further surveys ahead of submitting a planning application in the autumn.”
Those with further views or comments about the road can share them via email at nhrr@lincolnshire.gov.uk or via post by sending a letter to the following address – Lincolnshire County Council, c/o J. Hill, Lancaster House, Orchard Street Lincoln, LN1 1JY.
Cllr Davies continued: “This project is a massive undertaking that will see a new dual carriageway built linking the A46 Pennells Roundabout to the Lincoln Eastern Bypass, creating a full ring road around the city.
“On top of new roundabouts being built at South Hykeham Road, Brant Road and Grantham Road, a number of new bridges will also be built, including one at Station Road and one over the River Witham.
“All being well, we’re planning to start construction of the road towards the end of 2025.”
