Going for gold: Festival of History visitors invited to hunt for golden tickets

A golden ticket being held in front of the Eastgate at Lincoln Castle

Three golden tickets will be hidden in top Lincoln attractions during the Festival weekend. Lucky finders will win a family annual pass for Lincoln Castle.

From 4 to 6 May, the streets, museums and attractions of Lincoln will come alive in the first ever city-wide festival celebrating the city’s rich history. From the thundering footsteps of Roman warriors, to the elegant charm of Victorian England, visitors will be swept away on a journey through the ages – with activities right across the city centre.

Alongside all the excitement, visitors are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled for one of three golden tickets which will be hidden at three of the city’s top attractions.

The golden ticket will be hidden at:

Visitors lucky enough to find one of the winning tickets simply need to bring it to the gift shop at Lincoln Castle and exchange it for a family annual pass – worth up to £99.

A Lincoln Castle family annual pass entitles two adults and up to three children to immerse themselves in Lincoln Castle’s 1,000 years of history, and return to visit time and time again for a full year.

Entry to Lincoln Castle for the Festival of History weekend is with a castle day ticket – available now through the Lincoln Castle website at www.lincolncastle.com – and includes entry to the Victorian Prison, Medieval Wall Walk and Magna Carta.

Entry to Lincoln Museum is free throughout the Festival of History weekend.

Entry to the Museum of Lincolnshire Life is £3 for adults, £1.50 per child on Saturday 4 May. Simply pay on the door on the day. The museum is free to enter on Sunday 5 and Monday 6 May 2024.
